FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) about St.
John
Prayer and Healing: What is the prayer shawl thing? It is a ministry of comfort and prayer. Ladies from this congregation and others, pray while they knit or crochet – shawls, blankets, scarves. Members of our healing ministry and Pastor Jo Ann pray over items that are received and share them with persons going through difficult times.

Who are Stephen Ministers? Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who feel called to be present to another who is in a difficult situation. Each of these persons has received 50+ hours of training and ongoing supervision. When there is an active match of one member (Stephen Minister) with another (Care receiver of same gender), the persons typically meet once a week for about an hour. Except in cases of abuse, all information is kept confidential from the group and the congregation. Supervision takes place to insure the success of the relationship and to support those offering care.
